KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg stood firm over Sarawak rights and vowed to protect it.

He cautioned Sarawakians of the imminent encroachment by the federal government on state matters.

“If they (Pakatan Harapan) helms Sarawak, that will be the end of us. The will repeal our immigration autonomy and state laws,” he said.

“I have to be honest. Malays in the Peninsular now only realised about this. They are severely divided.

Abang Johari was addressing the crowd in his speech when officiating at the Presentation of Land Titles under Section 18 to residents of Kampung Kudei Baru at PBB headquarters here today.

“Pakatan Harapan is now busy (preparing for the state election) , everything that the state does is not right in their eyes.

“But then again, they have to remember the the power to call for an election is in my hands. No need for it to be too near.

The Chief Minister lamented the implementation of  Village Community Management Councils (MPKK) which he viewed only done to divide the people.

“Its not that I am prohibiting them (MPKK) but if we are broken apart because of it, we ourselves will be left to pick up the pieces.

Abang Johari urged the people to remain united, viewing that the people must remain undeterred with different sets of government at state and federal level.

During the ceremony, he handed 59 land titles to 82 landowners from Kampung Kudei Baru.

Also present were DBKU Mayor Datuk Junaidi Reduan, Land and Survey Department director Abdullah Julaihi, Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resources Zaidi Mahdi and PBB Satok deputy chairman Ibrahim Baki
